McLean Community Center Calendar of Events for February 2017
McLean, Va.—The McLean Community Center (MCC) offers the following activities in February. Residents of the Center’s tax district, Small District One A-Dranesville, are eligible for discounts on fees. Unless otherwise indicated, all activities will be held at the Center, which is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.
Better Than Bling
Jewelry, Fashion & Accessories Show
Saturday, Feb. 4, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Adult Admission: $5; Military (with ID) and Children age 12 or younger: Free.
Get ready to shop ’til you drop! Just in time for that perfect gift for Valentine’s Day! This boutique event features unique designs, independent-label fashion accessories and handcrafted jewelry. The items in this juried show range from casual to elegant, for every taste and budget. Enjoy lunch at our onsite café.
MCC 2017 Summer Camp Registration Opens

Plan now to register your child for MCC's enriching summer camp programs for children ages 3 through 14. Camp programs include Camp McLean, for children ages 3 to 10, summer art camps, sponsored by the McLean Project for the Arts, outdoor adventure camps with Fish & Explore, and The Old Firehouse’s Summer Camp Trips for 5th through 9th graders.
Macdonald Scholarship Application Deadline
Monday, Feb. 6
Each year, the McLean Community Center recognizes the hard work and talent of young performing artists through the James C. Macdonald Performing Arts Scholarship Competition. Following a preliminary audition and a final round of competition, prizes (1st - $1,200, 2nd - $800, and 3rd - $400) are awarded in each of four categories: Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music and Theater. George Washington’s Day
MCC and the Old Firehouse will be closed on Monday, Feb. 20, for the George Washington’s Day holiday.

All board meetings are open to the public. The joint meeting will be followed by the regular monthly meeting of the MCC Governing Board at 7:30 p.m.

The guitar-and-strings sounds of 1920s and ’30s gypsy jazz combine with a French chanteuse to recreate Paris and La Belle Époque right in The Alden!
