McLean Community Center Calendar of Events for September 2017


McLean, Va.—The McLean Community Center (MCC) offers the following activities in September. Residents of the Center’s tax district, Small District One A-Dranesville, are eligible for discounts on fees. The Center’s 1234 Ingleside Ave. facility is closed for renovation; the locations and addresses for these activities are included in the descriptions.

The Old Firehouse Friday Night Trips
Dave & Buster’s
Friday, Sept. 8, 3:30-10 p.m.
$55/$45 MCC district residents

On this trip for 7th- through 9th-graders, teens will have all access to Dave & Buster’s private dinner buffet and a $25 game card with unlimited arcade game play is included in the trip fee.

Finance Committee Meeting of the Whole

Residents of Dranesville District 1-A are invited to attend a meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, when the full MCC Governing Board will meet as a Finance Committee of the Whole to work on the details of the Center’s FY 2019 draft budget proposal.

Public Hearing on FY 2019 Budget

The McLean Community Center Governing Board invites Dranesville tax district residents to attend a Public Hearing on MCC’s FY 2019 Budget, which will be held at the Center’s Administrative Offices at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27. The 2019 fiscal year runs from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019. Residents who would like to speak at the public hearing should call the Center at 703-790-0123, TTY: 711, to have their names added to the speakers’ list. The hearing will be immediately followed by the regular monthly board meeting for September.

For 7th-12th graders. Introducing After 7, a renewed and reimagined take on The Old Firehouse’s former Friday Night Dances. Teens can enjoy catered food and drinks while immersing themselves in music played by one of the most popular and well-respected DJs in the area.

Harvest Happenings

For children ages 3-8. A fun and exciting day for the whole family is in store at this indoor-outdoor festival. Enjoy live entertainment, a petting zoo, crafts and games. All activities are free, except for the cost of purchasing pumpkins for crafts activities and food concessions.
