National Gallery of Art - Washington, D.C.
Thursday, Jan. 11, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
This is a unique opportunity to see and experience the works of Johannes Vermeer and his contemporaries from 1650 to 1675.
This special exhibit combines 65 works of art by Vermeer and his fellow painters of the Dutch Golden Age. Background will be given on Vermeer, his life and style of painting in 17th Century Dutch society. Despite not having any formal training in the art world, his attention to detail and color has made him one of the great masters in the art world.
Lunch will be on your own and is offered at either the Cascades Café or the Garden Café in the National Gallery of Art. Both serve delicious salads, sandwiches and specialty entrees.
Online registration is not available for tours and day trips. Please contact the registrar at 703-744-9365, TTY: 711, for registration options.
