Students at all levels are welcome. Create a narrative series of mixed media painted and collaged works in this four-session workshop. Each art work will begin with forms found in nature. How you define nature is open to each student. We will be using acrylic, patterned papers and various drawing materials. Students will be encouraged to work in “layered” compositions with mixed media materials-finding their own narrative content through color, line, shape, and various textural elements. Contemporary art history will also be a source of inspiration for this class.

Music Together®, an internationally-recognized music and movement program, engages early childhood music development for infant, toddler and preschool children and their parents and other primary caregivers through mixed-aged classes. It pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally-appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement and, it's fun! The Music Together approach develops every child's birthright of basic music competence by encouraging the actual experiencing of music through playful activities rather than the learning of concepts or information about music. Students do not need previous computer programming experience. Today most children use computers and manipulate media, but few of them know how to create the media or software they are using. This class will teach students how to create and develop computer programs (games, stories, etc.) instead of just playing with them. Students will learn computer programming concepts in a fun and interactive way. They will share their own interactive stories, animations, games, music and art. They will have an opportunity to think creatively, communicate clearly, use technology fluently and collaborate effectively. They also will create their own computer programs to implement computer games and combine multiple topics (Science, Engineering, Teamwork).

All facets of our life are affected by engineering—mechanical, civil, software—just to name a few. To be successful in the field of engineering, creative problem solving abilities are a must. Stemtree Engineering Workouts use the wonder and genius of robots to inspire students to learn engineering, apply their knowledge and skills of basic science, model construction, computer programming and problem solving to explore STEM concepts. This is both a perfect introduction to the world of robotics for younger students and an opportunity to expand the knowledge base of older students.
