This basic obedience course is for dogs over the age of six months who have no prior obedience training. Topics of instruction will include heeling on leash, come/recall command, down, sit and stay command. Situational training as related to real life situations will be encompassed in this training. Behavior related problem-solving methods will be addressed, as well. Classes will be held outdoors. Please do not bring your dog to the first class, it is only for pet "parents."

This course is offered to all dogs and their owners who have previously attended and completed a Basic (introductory) dog obedience course. Topics of instruction will cover heeling off leash, extended stay commands, recalls under distraction, down in motion and advanced “situational” training. Classes will be held outdoors.

If you have never knitted before, or if you are an old hand, everyone is welcome in our virtual Knitting Circle. You will get instructions to learn how to knit, help with a knitting project you are working on or you can just join us to meet other knitters and socialize. Bring your own supplies, or a project in progress. Supplies Needed for Class: yarn; knitting needles size 8 or 9; crochet hook (roughly the same size as knitting needles); scissors; yarn or tapestry needle.

McLean Community Center is proud to present free virtual classes that allow you to learn new skills at home or wherever you man roam. Not only is this format convenient, it also allows you to rewind or forward so you can learn at your own pace.

 

Unknitting is taught by MCC Knitting Circle instructor Julie Thatcher. Thatcher shows you how to quickly fix common mistakes you may encounter when working on knitting projects.

Your three- to five-year-old children can learn how to improve their soccer moves by practicing the skills MCC First Strike Soccer Instructor Justin Nguyen teaches in this lesson. And it's fun!

JST Athletics provides sports instruction to young athletes of all ages and skill levels. JST was founded on the principle that kids learn better when they love what they do, and they love what they do by having fun! Our teaching methods are centered around this principle to provide the perfect balance between fun and learning through our curriculum. Our goal here at JST is to instill a lifelong love of fitness through sports. Players learn the fundamental techniques of kicking, passing, dribbling, and defense. Develop a love for the world's sport as each class includes confidence-building drills and games incorporating skills learned. Activities include footwork agility, relays, obstacle courses and many more!

 

Please Note: Participants must bring their own soccer balls. This class will be held outside in the grassy area behind the building and will adhere to social distancing precautions.
