The Alden presents GRAMMY-nominated children’s entertainers The Pop Ups
The Alden, a division of the McLean Community Center (MCC) presents GRAMMY-nominated children’s entertainers The Pop Ups in “The Great Pretenders Club” for one performance only at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for MCC district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave.
The Pop Ups is a collaboration between Brooklyn musicians Jason Rabinowitz and Jacob Stein. The three-time GRAMMY nominees have been setting the standard for children’s music since 2010. A celebration of making, building and learning, their album “Appetite for Construction” received a 2014 GRAMMY nomination for Best Children’s Album, and they have received two other nominations.
“The Great Pretenders Club” takes family audiences on a scavenger hunt for the best imaginative play games their minds can dream up. This high-energy journey includes a whimsical, educational world with dancing robots, a fire-stomping rhino, live drawing, huge balloons, full-scale puppets and even a costume party. Propelled by award-winning music and dance beats, this highly interactive show catapults both young and old out of their seats. “Performances and lyrics any grownup would add to a playlist.”— Parents’ Choice
