McLean Day 2017 Entertainment Includes U.S. Navy Band, Flamenco Furia, Step Afrika!, Robbie Schaefer and McLean Interfaith Choir, Among Others

Burke & Herbert Bank Sponsors Main Stage


McLean, VA—Some of the area’s most sought-after performers are coming to perform at McLean Day 2017. The event now features two stages: the Main Stage, which is being sponsored by Burke & Herbert Bank; and a children’s stage with a variety of family-friendly options. McLean Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, at Lewinsville Park, 1659 Chain Bridge Rd. Admission is free and includes all onstage entertainment.

 11:15 a.m.-12 p.m. The United States Navy Band Country Current Celebrate Armed Forces Day with a blend of modern country music and cutting-edge bluegrass performed by the exceptional musicians of the U.S. Navy Band.

12:30-1 p.m. Capital Blend This all-female a cappella group sings “Pitch Perfect”-esque arrangements of your favorite pop tunes. They’ve performed everywhere from the streets of D.C. to national television (“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee”).

1:30-2 p.m. Furia Flamenca Experience the passion of Spanish dance with the D.C. area’s favorite flamenco company.

2:30-2:50 p.m. McLean Community Interfaith Choir Comprised of vocalists from several local faith organizations, this choir shares messages of faith, hope and love through music and works to strengthen and unify the community. Enjoy their McLean Day performance of patriotic songs and maybe even participate in a sing-along!

3-3:15 p.m. McLean Citizens Association Teen Awards Presented by the McLean Citizens Association

3:30-4:30 p.m. Four Star Combo High-energy, 1950s rockabilly and honky-tonk will get you on your feet and dancing on McLean Day 2017!

11 a.m.-12 p.m. Joy of Dance Enjoy these dance performances by students enrolled in Joy of Dance classes at MCC. The group is under the direction of Artistic Director Marilyn Baird.

12:45-1:30 p.m. Synetic Theatre Be prepared to catch flies, because Synetic Theatre will make your jaw drop! Their innovative and captivating brand of physical theatre will astound you no matter your age. 2:10-3:10 p.m. Robbie Schaefer Robbie Schaefer, the guitarist and songwriter for the acclaimed independent folk/rock band Eddie from Ohio, also makes music for kids! He will share music from his CD, “Songs for Kids Like Us.”

3:40-4:40 p.m. Step Afrika! Step Afrika! is the first professional company in the world dedicated to the tradition of stepping. Their rhythmic, high-energy dance and music will have all ages out of their seats!
