The Light Up McLean Holiday Decorating Competition is your opportunity to show off your home in all its holiday splendor! Think your holiday decorations are the best? Enter the competition and prove it! Your McLean neighbors will vote for the top two winners in the following categories:

Best Overall: Features an exceptionally attractive, unique and complete design that utilizes space and resources well.
Most Creative/Original: Features exceptional use of creative ideas and lots of originality is evident in the design.
Best Holiday Theme: Features eye-catching decorations that clearly communicate a fully conceptualized theme.

The McLean 5K Run is back this fall! Hosted by the McLean Community Center with the support of sponsors Century 21 New Millennium and the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, the race features a USATF certified course through the heart of McLean and is designed to appeal to runners of all abilities. The proceeds of the run benefit the McLean Community Foundation. Recruit a team of coworkers, teammates, fellow runners, neighbors, family members and friends and mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct. 2.

The McLean Community Center has created the “purrfect” event for local pet owners and their beloved animals. 

Learn valuable information and get tips on pet products and services that can enhance the lives of your pet and improve your experience as a pet owner. A variety of pet-related exhibitors will be participating. Join the fun for the Pooch Parade at the event! Bring your leashed pets to show off their best costumes. 

All dogs must remain on a leash sporting their dog licenses and rabies tags.

The Old Firehouse is transforming the inside of the center into the spookiest, scariest, walk-through experience in McLean. The House of Terror will be divided into two time slots:

• No Scares 5–7 p.m.: Participants can walk through the lighted path and view our actors and actresses with no jumps, scares or fears.
All Scares 7:30–10 p.m.: The effects are on, the lights are off, and the actors and actresses are out of sight and ready to surprise.


Trunk or Treat
Saturday, Oct. 30, 6–9 p.m.
Free for kids of all ages; preregistration is not required.

If the House of Terror isn’t your thing, no worries! Outside, the OFC's Trunk or Treat will have some music, fun and themed vehicles with Halloween candy to share while supplies last.

Welcome back to the McLean Antiques Show & Sale. This is more than just an antique show, it’s a special event! The show features an exceptional group of dealers representing American, English and
European antiques, decorative accessories, furniture, folk art, porcelain, silver, painting, prints, linens, Oriental carpets, rugs and much more. Relax for a cup of coffee or stay for lunch at the onsite café.

Enjoy a weekend of holiday cheer at the McLean Holiday Art & Crafts Festival! This highly anticipated, three-day, indoor show features up to 80 talented, juried, regional artisans. Shop local and find one-of-a-kind gifts for every budget. Including pottery, glass, jewelry, holiday decor, mixed media, fashion accessories, wood, fine art, artisanal foods, soaps and more. MCC is ADA compliant and provides a delightful venue, music and onsite café.

Celebrate the holidays and start a new family tradition with us! Families decorate their own one-of-a-kind gingerbread houses! We'll supply a pre-built house, more than 20 traditional candies, toppings and frosting. The program will be held in person, however, families can make arrangements to pick up their purchased houses and supplies to use at home. 

Notes: Parental supervision is required for children ages 12 and younger. Products may contain dairy, eggs, gluten, nuts and other allergens.
