Join the McLean Fun Run!

Registration, PPU, Warmup begins at 7 a.m.; Race begins at 8 a.m.

Hosted by the McLean Community Center with the support of sponsors, Century 21 New Millennium and the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, the race features a USATF certified course through the heart of McLean and is designed to appeal to runners of all abilities.


Recruit a team of coworkers, teammates, fellow runners, neighbors, family members and friends and mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct. 1. The proceeds of the run benefit the McLean Community Foundation.

Produced by McLean Community Center for local pet owners and their beloved animals. Have fun at the park, see great pet tricks and demonstrations, find valuable pet-related information and get tips on products and services that can enhance the life of your pet and improve your experiences as a pet owner. A variety of exhibitors will be participating. Bring your leashed pets to show off their best costumes and join the fun for the Pet Parade at 3 p.m.! Take a picture of your pet and the whole family in the photo booth.

All dogs must remain on leashes sporting their dog licenses and rabies tags. Free parking at the Dolley Madison Library and MCC. Enjoy the music, giveaways and gourmet food trucks.

Calling all families of ghouls and goblins! Come join the Old Firehouse (in your best Halloween costumes) for a night of live music, games, food, contests and tons of candy!

Help Us and Have Fun! Families who wish to volunteer them- selves and their vehicles for Trunk or Treat can submit an email request to oldfirehouse@mcleancenter.org. Please include your name and your trunk theme and submit your request by Friday, Sept. 30. Volunteer hours are 4:30–10:30 p.m. Each family will receive candy to distribute to the trunk or treaters. Volunteer spots are limited.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert, love snacks or want to get your hands dirty with some paint, come on down to the Old Firehouse for our Snack & Paint night. Led by a professional art teacher, you will be able to create your own masterpiece with your family while having tons of fun doing so. All materials and snacks are included in the fee. Preregistration is recommended.

Get in the spirit and celebrate this weekend of holiday cheer at the McLean Holiday Art & Crafts Festival! Produced by MCC for 40 years, this three-day, indoor show features approximately 80 talented, juried, regional artisans. Shop local, support the arts and find one-of-a-kind gifts for every budget. This shopping experience includes pottery, glass, jewelry, holiday decor, mixed media, fashion accessories, wood, fine art, artisanal foods and more. MCC provides a delightful venue, music and is ADA-compliant. Stay for coffee, pastries or lunch at the onsite café.

Show management is provided by the Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild (NVHG). Founded in 1972, the NVHG, a 501(c)3 nonprofit community-based organization, is dedicated to helping artists and crafts people exhibit and sell their work, promoting the development of arts and crafts in the community and supporting arts and crafts educational activities. Celebrate the holidays with us! Families decorate a gingerbread house to make their own one-of-a-kind designs. We’ll supply a pre-built house, frosting and traditional and not-so-traditional toppings. Join us at the MCC for our annual fun, family tradition. Regis- tration includes one gingerbread house.
