MCC Youth Ambassador Program
The mission of the McLean Community Center is to provide a sense of community by undertaking programs, assisting community organizations and furnishing facilities for civic, cultural, educational, recreational and social activities apportioned fairly to all residents of Dranesville Small District 1A.
An MCC Ambassador will be expected to help MCC accomplish this mission through youth events. Youth ambassadors will act as liaisons between community youth and the two youth members of the MCC Governing Board. The purpose of the program is to collect as well as share the feedback and ideas of local high school students in Dranesville Small District 1A.
The ambassadors will oversee advertising the McLean Community Center via their social media platforms and through their schools. The ambassadors will report to the McLean and Langley high school members of the governing board. They also assist in planning events and activities targeted to the youth of McLean in support of acquiring their growing participation in MCC programs. Ambassadors will meet monthly at MCC or the Old Firehouse Center to discuss public feedback and plan future activities.
Youth ambassadors must live within Dranesville Small District 1A tax district, must be in high school (grades 9-12) and must attend either McLean or Langley high schools.*
* Upon successful completion of this pilot program, program eligibility will be expanded to allow youth from other MCC district private high schools to participate.
Please send completed applications to Mike Fisher at firstname.lastname@example.org.
