Inclement Weather Policy

When Fairfax County Public Schools have not closed:

All classes will be held unless Fairfax County Government or the McLean Community Center's Executive Director close the Center.

When Fairfax County Public Schools are CLOSED all day and Fairfax County Government OPENS ON TIME with UNSCHEDULED LEAVE:

The McLean Community Center and the Old Firehouse Teen Center will open on time but all classes are canceled. Rentals and local, open meetings are not affected unless canceled by the Executive Director or the rental client.

When Fairfax County Public Schools do not close early, but CANCEL all after-school and evening activities: 

McLean Community Center and the Old Firehouse Teen Center will be open, but all classes beginning after 6 p.m. will be canceled. Rentals and local, open meetings are not affected unless canceled by the Executive Director or the rental client.

When Fairfax County Public Schools CANCEL weekend activities:

The McLean Community Center and the Old Firehouse Teen Center will open on time but all classes are canceled. Rentals and local, open meetings are not affected unless canceled by the Executive Director or the rental client.

When Fairfax County Public Schools OPEN TWO HOURS LATE and Fairfax County Government OPENS ON TIME with UNSCHEDULED LEAVE:

The McLean Community Center and the Old Firehouse Teen Center will open on time. All classes will be held as scheduled. Rentals and local, open meetings are not affected unless canceled by the Executive Director or the rental client.

When Fairfax County Public Schools and Fairfax County Government are CLOSED all day:

The McLean Community Center and the Old Firehouse Teen Center will close following the Fairfax County Government decision to close all County facilities. All events, classes and rental activities are canceled.

When Fairfax County Public Schools CLOSE TWO HOURS EARLY and Fairfax County Government remains open:

The McLean Community Center and the Old Firehouse Teen Center will be open as scheduled. All classes scheduled to begin at or after 1 p.m. are canceled. Rentals and local, open meetings are not affected unless canceled by the Executive Director or the rental client.
