McLean Community Center Inclement Weather and Closure Policy

On occasion, inclement weather may affect the operation of McLean Community Center (MCC) facilities, programs and services. Decisions regarding closures or cancellations are made with the utmost regard for the safety of our participants and staff. In the event of inclement weather, the McLean Community Center posts all facility closures and delays on the MCC website and on MCC social media platforms (linked below). Participants enrolled in MCC classes or Old Firehouse Center activities, and Alden Theatre ticket holders will receive email notification if their programs are canceled.

All MCC facilities follow the status of Fairfax County Government for closures. If Fairfax County Government is closed for the entire day, all MCC programs, facility rentals and services are canceled. Final discretion is held by the MCC Executive Director to authorize closures or delays outside of Fairfax County-wide closures or delays.

Monitoring the status of Fairfax County Government can provide general guidance as to the operational status of our facilities.
