Coding (Python-Scratch Coding)

Stemtree’s Coding After School Program gives students the opportunity to code using either Python or Scratch, depending on their grade level. Students in grades 1–3 use Scratch, while those in grade 4 and up code in Python. Scratch is a highly visual programming language designed for younger students, while Python is one of the most popular programming languages used in data science and machine learning. The program enhances critical thinking and problem-solving skills through engaging activities. Students learn how to create and develop computer programs—such as games and stories—instead of just playing them. Students who have previously attended Stemtree programs will have different activities and will continue learning new STEM concepts based on their prior work.
