Rossini’s absolutely ridiculous comic opera has never been better when sung by Juan Diego Flórez, Diana Damrau and Joyce DiDonato. “Le Comte Ory” tells the story of a libidinous and cunning nobleman who disguises himself first as a hermit and then as a nun (told you it was ridiculous) to gain access to the virtuous Countess Adele. Directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher.
