McLean, Va.— The McLean Community Center (MCC) offers the following activities in September. Please check the center’s website, https://mcleancenter.org, for up-to-date information. Residents of the center’s tax district, Small District 1A-Dranesville, are eligible for discounts on fees. The center is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave.
American Red Cross Blood Drive
Thursday, Sept. 8, Noon-5 p.m.
MCC is helping the American Red Cross with diverse blood donations! It is urgent for donors of all ethnicities to support patients in need. Join us and support the community with your lifesaving blood donation. All donors will receive a $10 Amazon Gift Card via email. Family Fun Bingo

Fall Community Parking Lot Sale
Saturday, Sept. 17, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Free Admission. Sellers must register.
Find bargains and treasures at this outdoor community parking lot sale with up to 60 vendors selling household items. Got stuff? Local residents are welcome to sell household items and a limited number of commercial vendors or flea market dealers also can participate. Sellers must register by Wednesday, Sept. 14, at https://mcleancenter.org, in person or by phone by calling the MCC Registrar at 703-744-9365/TTY: 711.
Celebrating 32 Years!
Old Firehouse Block Party
Saturday, Sept. 17, 1-4 p.m.
Old Firehouse, 1440 Chain Bridge Rd.
Free admission
Come out and celebrate the Old Firehouse’s 32 years of serving the Greater McLean community! Activities include live music, air-brushed tattoos, street performances, an Old Firehouse Living History Exhibit, concessions, various amusements and free popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones while they last. Patrons are encouraged to bring a bike to donate to Wheels to Africa!

The Sons of Mystro are brothers who use their violins to interpret reggae classics and American pop songs by such artists as Al Green, LMFAO, Bob Marley and Dua Lipa. They are winners of the Emerging Artist (Under 21 Years Old) Award from the International Reggae and World Music Awards. “The band dazzled alongside each other, their chemistry drawing the crowd out of the shade and into the open lawn, dancing their way to the stage.” - TropiCult (covering SunFest)

Celebrate autumn with your family! Harvest Happenings is an indoor-outdoor festival with live entertainment, a petting zoo, crafts and games. Visit our pumpkin patch and purchase a pumpkin to decorate at the crafts station.
Old Firehouse Teacher Workday Trip
iFly & Movie
Monday, Sept. 26, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.
$90/$80 MCC district residents
Prepare to be blown away! iFly is an indoor skydiving, adrenaline rush activity that has you floating in midair. A signed waiver is required for participation. Following the flight, the group will watch one the newest movies at a nearby movie theater. Admission to iFly, lunch and movie tickets are included in the fee. Participants should bring additional money for movie concessions as desired.
MCC Governing Board Meeting + Budget Public Hearing
Wednesday, Sept. 28, 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will begin with the Public Hearing on FY2024 Budget; the hearing will be followed by the Board's regular monthly meeting. All Governing Board meetings are open to the public. Tax district residents (Small District One A-Dranesville) who wish to speak during the “Citizen Comment” portion of the meeting are asked to call the Center at 703-790-0123, TTY: 711, to be placed on the agenda.
