Refund Policy

MCC issues refunds when it cancels a class, activity or camp. The center also issues refunds when it changes a class, activity or camp and the change makes it impossible for patrons to continue with the class. Please note: It is MCC's policy to cancel a class one week prior to the start date if the class does not meet minimum enrollment.
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to refunds@mcleancenter.org. Refunds will be made according to the type of payment received. If the fee is paid by check, a refund check will be issued by Fairfax County within four (4) to six (6) weeks of the date on which the request is received. Fees paid by credit card will be refunded back to the card that was used for the original transaction, usually within three (3) to five (5) days from when the transaction is processed. Participants may also choose to have their fees returned as a credit on their account in our registration system.
After a class or activity is in session or the June refund deadline for camps has passed, refunds may be granted for medical reasons or extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the General Programs Director and the Registrar. Refund requests made for medical reasons must be accompanied by a doctor’s note to be considered.

Patrons who submit refund requests 14 days or more ahead of the start date of the class or activity will receive a full refund less a 10% administrative fee.
Patrons who submit refund requests 13 days or less ahead of the start date of the class or activity will not be granted a refund.
Trip and Tour

Patrons who submit refund requests 14 days or more ahead of the start date of the trip or tour will receive a full refund less a 10% administrative fee.

Camp McLean and Old Firehouse Teen Camp
Patrons who submit requests to withdraw and/or cancel a camp registration before Friday, April 5, 2024, will be granted a full refund.
Patrons who submit requests to withdraw and/or cancel a camp registration after Friday, April 5, 2024, but MORE THAN 21 days ahead of the camp start date will receive a full refund less a 20% administrative fee.
Patrons who submit requests to withdraw and/or cancel a camp registration LESS THAN 21 days ahead of the camp start date will only be granted a refund if the spot left vacant is filled. The patron will then receive a full refund less a 20% administrative fee.
