The McLean Community Center Governing Board Holds Two Meetings in September on Its Fiscal Year 2027 Budget
Residents of Dranesville Small District 1A are encouraged to attend both meetings
McLean, Va.— The McLean Community Center’s Governing Board begins work on its Fiscal Year 2027 budget by holding two public meetings in September. The board invites residents of Dranesville Small District 1A to attend the meetings as they pay a real estate surcharge to support the center. All MCC Governing Board meetings are open to the public. MCC is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave.
The first budget meeting will be held in person at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3. At the Finance Committee Meeting of the Whole, MCC Finance Committee Chair Peter Pin and the full board will examine the proposed FY2027 budget as presented by the MCC staff. District residents are encouraged to attend the meeting to observe; however, public comment is reserved for the Public Hearing, which will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24.
The FY2027 budget year begins July 1, 2026, and ends June 30, 2027. The departmental and consolidated budget proposals will include a review of FY2025 year-end actuals, the current year’s budget (FY2026) and new proposals for FY2027. The preliminary consolidated budget will be posted on MCC’s website, mcleancenter.org, and will be available at the center’s front desk beginning the week of September 14.
The FY2027 Budget Public Hearing will be held in person at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24. This hearing gives residents another opportunity to review the proposed budget. They can also prepare and provide verbal and/or written comments at the hearing. Residents of Small District 1A-Dranesville who wish to speak at the “Public Comment” portion of the hearing are asked to call 703-790-0123, TTY:711, to have their names placed on a speakers’ list; however, signing up is not required.
District residents who cannot attend the public hearing can submit written comments to the MCC Governing Board by mail (address to: McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean VA 22101), or email them to feedback@mcleancenter.org.
Residents may continue to submit written comments after the public hearing through Monday, Oct. 13. The MCC Governing Board will approve the FY2027 budget at its October meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The final draft budget proposal will be reviewed and approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in spring 2026.
