We’re monitoring the forecast for Saturday’s Independence Day Fireworks Celebration. At this time, the event is still ON as planned. Updates will be shared here and on Socials if status changes.

  • Additional free satellite parking and shuttle buses (Accessibility Equipped)

Please Note: The following are prohibited on school grounds: smoking, alcohol, vaping, glass containers, personal fireworks, weapons and pets.

Free Shuttle Bus Information

Skip the parking and ride one of our free shuttle buses to and from the Independence Day Fireworks Celebration at Langley High School.

Shuttle Pick-Up Locations:

McLean Community Center
1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean, VA 22101
Pick-up at the main entrance.

Churchill Road Elementary School
7100 Churchill Rd., McLean, VA 22101
Pick-up at the front entrance walkway near the parking lot.

St. Luke School & Church
7001 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA 22101
Pick-up at the church entrance in the parking lot. Shuttle service begins after the Saturday evening Mass at **7 p.m.**

Shuttle Schedule

Destination: Langley High School (6520 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA 22101)
* Shuttle service begins at 4:45 p.m. from the McLean Community Center and Churchill Road Elementary School.
* Shuttle service begins at 7 p.m. from St. Luke School & Church.
* Buses will run continuously throughout the event.
* Return service begins immediately following the fireworks and continues until approximately 10:30–10:45 p.m., or until all passengers have been transported back to their original shuttle location.

Accessibility

Each shuttle location is served by multiple buses, including **one ADA-accessible shuttle** to accommodate passengers with mobility needs.

We encourage attendees to take advantage of this free service for a convenient, stress-free way to enjoy the celebration.

Event Schedule

5 p.m.- Event opens (food trucks, field games, craft tent, and Official VA250 Mobile Museum)
7:30 p.m.- Field games end
8 p.m.- Independence Day parade and VCO Brass Quintet performance
9 p.m.- Lights out for fireworks
9:12 p.m.- Speeches
9:22 p.m.- Fireworks show begins
10 p.m.- End of event
10:30 p.m.- Food trucks and VA250 Mobile Museum stop services

  • Two Smooth Dudes (tater tot bowls and smoothies)

Special Attraction

McLean Community Center is honored to host the official Virginia 250 Mobile Museum at this year’s Independence Day Fireworks Celebration. The VA250 Mobile Museum Experience is a state-of-the-art exhibition that allows visitors to explore Virginia’s central role in the American Revolution and how the actions of people across the Commonwealth helped shaped the nation we live in today. Make sure to experience the VA250 Mobile Museum, now until 10:30 p.m. tonight. The attraction will shut down briefly during the firework show.

What Happens if it Rains?

The MCC Independence Day Fireworks Celebration team will make a call about the event on the afternoon of Saturday, June 27. We are actively monitoring the weather so please check back here and on our Socials for any updates. Hope to see you at the event!
