McLean Community Center Governing Board invites residents of Dranesville Small District 1A to a work session and a public hearing on the center’s FY2025 Budget
McLean, Va.— The McLean Community Center (MCC) Governing Board invites residents of Dranesville Small District 1A, who pay a real estate surcharge to support the center, to two meetings in September to discuss and construct the center’s FY2025 budget. District residents are encouraged to attend the meetings to share their ideas and suggestions. They can also submit their comments by mail or email. All MCC Governing Board meetings are open to the public. MCC is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave.
The FY2025 budget year begins July 1, 2024, and ends June 30, 2025. At the first meeting, the Finance Committee Meeting of the Whole, MCC Finance Committee Chair Kathleen Cooney Porter and the full board will examine the proposed FY2025 budget. The meeting will be held in person at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6. The departmental and consolidated budget proposals will include a review of FY2023 year-end actuals, the current year’s budget (FY2024) and new proposals for FY2025. The preliminary consolidated budget will be posted on MCC’s website, https://mcleancenter.org, and will be available at the center’s welcome center beginning on Thursday, Sept. 14.
The FY2025 Budget Public Hearing will be held in person at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27. This hearing gives residents another opportunity to review and comment on the center’s budget proposal. Residents of Small District 1A-Dranesville who wish to speak at the hearing are asked to call 703-790-0123, TTY:711, to have their names placed on a speakers list. District residents who cannot attend the hearing, can send written comments to the MCC Governing Board by mail (address to: McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Ave., McLean VA 22101), or email them to MCC Executive Director Elizabeth May-Salazar at email@example.com.
Residents may continue to submit written comments after the public hearing through Friday, Oct. 6. The MCC Governing Board will approve the FY2025 budget at its October meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25. The final draft budget proposal will be approved by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in spring 2024.
