McLean Community Center Calendar of Events for November 2023

McLean, Va.— The McLean Community Center (MCC) offers the following activities in November 2023. Please check the center’s website, mcleancenter.org, for up-to-date information. Residents of the center’s tax district, Small District 1A-Dranesville, are eligible for discounts on fees. The center is located at 1234 Ingleside Ave.

The Alden's foreign language movie series is curated by Performing Arts Director Sarah Schallern Treff, with more than a little help from you, our audience members! The series has a few surprises thrown in. The schedule is subject to change.

Old Firehouse Family Events
Family Fun Bingo
Friday, Nov. 3, 7-9:30 p.m.
$15/$10 MCC district residents. Preregistration recommended.

Join us for an evening of family fun! Enjoy free popcorn on us. Winners will take their pick of prizes!

“When You Wish Upon a Star: A Jazz Tribute to 100 Years of Disney”
Saturday, Nov. 4, 7 p.m.
$30/$25 students and seniors/$20 MCC district residents

For all ages. “When You Wish…” an unforgettable evening celebrating 100 years of Disney through the lens of jazz as performed by house band of The National Jazz Museum in Harlem. Dreams really do come true! This production is not affiliated with, sponsored, or authorized by The Walt Disney Company.

Old Firehouse Teacher Work Day Trip
iFly & Movie
Monday, Nov. 6, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
$90/$80 MCC district residents

Prepare to be blown away! iFly is an indoor sky diving adrenaline rush activity that has you floating in mid-air. Following our flight, we will watch one the newest movie releases at a nearby movie theater. A signed waiver is required to participate. Admission to iFly, lunch and movie tickets are included in the fee. Bring additional money for movie concessions as desired.

Old Firehouse Teacher Work Day Trip
Immersive Gamebox
Tuesday, Nov. 7, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
$70/$60 MCC district residents

Come with the Old Firehouse as we experience the Immersive Gamebox. This unique experience uses motion tracking, projection mapping, touch screens and surround sound. This trip is sure to be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before. A signed waiver is required to participate. Admission and dinner are included in the fee. Bring additional money for snacks as desired.

McLean Antiques Show & Sale
Saturday, Nov. 11, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Admission: $10, Free for children 17 or younger. Admission price is good for both days.

Discover fine antiques, art and collectibles from scores of reputable dealers at this highly celebrated show of almost 50 years. The show features antiques, decorative accessories, furniture, folk art, porcelain, silver, jewelry, paintings and prints, glass, carpets, vintage clothing and more. Proceeds benefit the James C. Macdonald Scholarship Fund.
