Seniors in Action
Overview
Come be a member of Seniors in Action (SIA)! SIA is a recreation program created for independent adults age 50+. Enjoy a wide variety of enriching activities that spark connection, build friendship and foster a vibrant sense of community. Classes and offerings are all held at McLean Community Center, unless otherwise communicated.
Membership is free—although some activities may have a small fee. Discover all that SIA has to offer and be part of the action today!

Registration opens Wednesday, Aug. 12, 9 a.m.
Fall 2026 SIA Programming begins Tuesday, Sept. 8, and ends Friday, Dec. 11.

Registration
You can register through the following methods: online, in-person, or by phone.
Online:
Simply click on the activity numbers on this page, or register by clicking the green "Register" button in the top right corner of the website. Click here for step-by-step instructions on registering through Active.
In-Person:
Registration will begin at 9 a.m. on August 12, but once you arrive at MCC you will be given a numbered ticket and a staff member will direct you where to go. Payment will not be collected during the initial registration period, please stop by the front desk to complete your payment on the way out.
Phone/Email:
Phone and email registrations will begin processing on Wednesday, August 12, at 9 a.m., and we will handle them in the order they are received. Please contact us at (703)-744-9365 or email us at registrar@mcleancenter.org if you wish to enroll by one of these methods.
SIA Cost-Associated Activities
Exercise Attendance Policy
Due to the high demand and popularity of our SIA exercise classes, we’re introducing a new attendance policy to help ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to participate. SIA class participants are expected to contact MCC program staff when they know they are going to miss a class. To avoid unused spots in classes, participants who miss four consecutive classes without notifying MCC program staff of the reason for their absences may be withdrawn from the class.

IT Workshops

Amy Burk from TechWise Coaching leads interactive sessions for up to 15 participants on using technology to stay independent. Designed for adult learners, the program covers practical topics like phone use, device customization, security and privacy, voice and accessibility tools, technology for independence, AI, social media, creativity, and more.
Registration is required and these courses fill up quickly!
