SIA Spanish Conversation Club
Are you interested in learning beginner Spanish, or curious about taking a class? Do you have particular interest in holding conversation in Spanish? Are you looking for a regular social opportunity with others who share similar interests?
This free club is a great opportunity to get started! This is a youth-led program; local spanish students/enthusiasts from nearby high schools have put together a curriculum for Basic Beginner Spanish designed to foster conversations.
Meetings start with a 10-minute icebreaker. Next is a solid 10-minute speaking lesson, and then a quick 5-minute reading lesson. Everyone then splits into small groups for a 10-minute reading practice where student leaders help adults with missed/unknown words. The remaining 30 minutes are spent entirely on small-group speaking practice, giving everyone time to speak. The meetings will end with a 10-minute group reflection and requests for next week.
This program is FREE.
